Go / Do / Play Exercises for Sports

The verbs Go, Do, and Play go with certain sports and activities.

Go = This one is easy because it is used with sports that end with ‘ing’,  and you are usually ‘going’ somewhere

For example, I like to go running at the weekend”.

Do = This is used with recreational activities (yoga, gardening, etc.) and with individual sports without a ball. For example, “I like to do gymnastics and judo”.

Play = When a ball is used in team sports we usually use play. In addition, we also use ‘play’ in games and activities when two or more people play. For example, “play chess, or play cards”

Ok, now practice the exercises to see what you remember!
